Visionary Artist
Heather Ritts
Heather Ritts’ paintings consist of an array of colors that illustrate the beauty of nature and surreal characters from her imagination. A full-time freelance artist, she brings inspiration from the ocean, surfing, plants and animals from around the world.
After four years of fine arts study at Laguna College of Art and Design, Ritts has found joy in painting on such items as surfboards, canvas, and wood. She draws from her wild imagination and intertwines reality to bring you familiar scenes that simultaneously seem so far from the world you know.
“I am inspired by the ocean and surfing,” Ritts says. “I love to paint surreal images from what I feel, what I love, and what I experience through surfing and travel. My passion is to intertwine my love for the sea and my painting.”
Using acrylics and water-based paint pens on canvas, surfboards, fins, wood, and boots, Ritts also paints with transparent watercolors and gouache (opaque watercolor) for her fine art pieces. She has been painting surfboards for the past eight years in San Clemente, CA.
Following her bliss and creating the life she wants, Ritts is realizing her dream “to paint for a living, be inspired, do the things I love, and have fun!”
