Derek Goodwin
I come from an artistic family. Ever since early childhood, I have been blessed with the ability to express my imagination through art. I start many of my paintings with a splash or a smear. These abstract images possess form and movement and I add definition and detail to help show what they were all 
along. Art is a portal into my insight, giving viewers a glimpse of how I see the world.
Born in Arkansas and raised in California, I have seen some of the country’s most majestic landscapes. Inspired by this beauty, my art weaves together elements from the natural and supernatural worlds. The cover art depicts the Goddess of Justice illuminated by the rays of Lady Liberty’s crown.
With the use of natural fibers, paints and organics, my art stretches beyond the confines of the canvas, taking shape in sculpture, enhanced photography and tattoos. I reside in Southern California and I am inspired daily by the breathtaking scenery around me and two goddesses of my very own—my wife, Sherri, and my daughter, Ella Sequoia.
