ENAGIC WATER SYSTEMS
Our bodies are made up of 75 percent water. Considering this fact, it stands to reason that if you put good water in your body, it is going to be affected in a dramatic way. This is the premise behind Enagic, makers of Leveluk water technology and Kangen water (Kangen means “return to origin” in Japanese). Leveluk is more that just a water filtration system. It is a way to obtain antioxidants and alkaline while at the same time removing harmful chemicals from your water.
Alkaline levels in newborns are naturally high. Throughout our lives, as we eat processed foods and are exposed to environmental toxins, our body systems slowly turn more acidic. Overly acidic bodies store more fat because foods is harder to break down in overly acidic bodies than in alkaline ones. To prove this point, certain medications should not be taken with highly micro-clustered water because the medicine would penetrate the system faster than normal.

The Leveluk hooks up to your normal tap water outlet and is a free-standing unit which sits on your countertop. Water filtered through the system can be used for cooking, in teas, for washing vegetables and especially for drinking. It is especially beneficial to drink Kangen water with strongly acidic foods such as meat and eggs.
“There are several different [water system] companies out there,” says Shawn Ferrigno, a Southern California representative of Enagic. “Ours is the Lexus of the industry as far as our product is concerned. The suspense is palatable. For this is not your ordinary peanut. This is a peanut with a purpose. It is an organic Wild Amazonian peanut, a “Jungle Peanut” which is sustainably grown and wild harvested through the Sunfood Nutrition™ company endorsed by leading raw food authority David Wolfe.
The packaging alone demands background music (imagine a string quartet building suspense) as it asks us to “discover the world’s original heirloom peanut from deep within the heart of the Ecuadorian rainforest.”
You can imagine the buildup in just opening the bag. And open it I will…
…but first! More research. The back-story on this peanut shows that a Sunfood representative befriended someone who had taken part in a sacred ritual by the Shuar Indians of Ecuador. On a special visit, the rep was allowed to meet with the tribe and get an introduction to many wonders, including a basket of these unique and beautiful nuts. According to the website, the first bite was “mind-blowing” and “the best food he’d ever tasted.”
Well, if it’s that good, then I’ll have to try it. But wait! It must be known that partaking of the peanut does more good than just filling the stomach. Because Indian lands are threatened by big business, the sale and consumption of these peanuts directly helps the farmers protect their native rainforests from loggers, the petroleum industry, the cattle industry and mono-crop farming.
Also of note are the amazing nutrition facts, as it contains:
• Over 40 percent oleic acid, making it truly "heart healthy."
• 14 percent protein.
• All eight essential amino acids, plus the hard-to-find methionine.
Now it’s eating time! Got the bag opened. But hold on a minute! In reading the back package once more, you can’t help but notice the words “Enjoy and Have the Best Day Ever.”
Now the pressure is really on. Can I even take a bite? What if I don’t like it? What if my day doesn’t even rank? What if…
OK, OK. I’ll eat. Can’t let the South American rainforest down.
Hmmm. You know. This is one good peanut. It doesn’t have the nasty crunchy texture of other normal “American peanuts.” And though my mind doesn’t exactly feel blown, this food is definitely flavorful, smooth and a treat. And you can tell — history, packaging and promotion aside — it is no ordinary nut. And that’s a good thing.
