Creates the New Family

In early 1995, I wondered if there was a man out there who was right for me. I had not had more than two dates in 10 years and I was ready for something new.
I awoke one morning that same year puzzled by a vivid dream. In it, I looked up to the sky to see a brilliant, twin-tail comet. About six weeks later, I was watching a movie, The Butcher's Wife, as Demi Moore ran to the top of a lighthouse seeking a sign that true love would visit her. She was ecstatic when a twin-tail comet shot across the sky.
A few weeks later I met up with a friend for a birthday lunch. We stopped by Barnes and Noble and I picked up a copy of The Bridges of Madison County. The next morning, which was actually my birthday, I decided to stay home from work. Good Morning America was highlighting the Arcadia National Park in Maine, a place I had never even heard of. I muted the sound and picked up my book. A few pages in, I was again in awe. The story was describing a photographer who was on assignment at Arcadia National Park!
Soon I came across a passage that caused every cell in my body to vibrate. The woman in the story was describing the photographer that she loved. She said, “He was a leopard-like creature who flew in on the tail of a comet.” I was overcome yet at the same time skeptical. I had been through many hard times lately and I wasn't certain if I could trust what was happening. “Don't you mess with me!” I shouted to God, “Not on my birthday! I started a course on relationships the following week. Through the class, which was based on A Course in Miracles, I entered into a miraculous period of spiritual change. I felt an intense God-like love for everyone I met. The synchronicities that kept entering my life put me in a state of awe. During this time, my creative abilities intensified. Poetry flowed easily and ideas came in a steady stream for my book Words of Love for Men: Secret Formulas for Mastering Intimate Relationships.
Then everything changed when one of my daughters was brutally stabbed in a park in San Diego. With this new reality, I plummeted. Gradually, my daughter recovered from her injuries. But the emotional scarring ran deeper and took infinitely longer to heal.
I concluded after enough time had passed that I wanted to manifest a companion in my life. I outlined a list of his attributes and took the list into my meditation time.
Months later, I felt compelled to get back on CompuServe, one of the first cyber-communities I had ever used. I ended up in the Mind Meditation section of the New Age Forum. I was very impressed with the posts about The Celestine Prophecy. I selected ten people whose posts were the most insightful and I wrote a message to them.
I explained that at one time I had been in the realm of love labeled by the book as the 5th Insight and told them how I had been knocked out of that realm by tragedy. I was seeking ideas on how to get back to that place. One of the wonderful replies was from the man who would eventually become my husband.
The rest is history. Mark and I are currently in our 12th year together. He truly is a leopard-like creature who flew in on the tail of a comet! When I first began writing Words of Love for Men, it seemed strange to be writing about the ideal relationship yet not experiencing it. Mark came into my life at the perfect time. This book assists people most significantly because it helps individuals and couples understand the importance and power of loving words.
