And The Healer Is...You

by Nicole Pugh

Healers in their various forms have been around as long as humanity itself. Curanderas in Latin traditions, witch doctors in vodou, faith healers in the Christian religions, shamans, brujas, modern alternative health practitioners in different forms‹through a mysterious connection to the divine or through years of study and practice, these select individuals are given the "gift" of healing. They go out into the world to help others and many of them do in miraculous, albeit mysterious, ways. As for the recipient of the healing, he or she may decide (or it may be recommended to them) that they need more healings. So they return to the healer for more laying on of hands, herbal concoctions or lessons in body movement. The healee may at one point decide that they wish to learn how to heal as well. So they sign up for classes, buy books, take tests, go through initiations and mark the datetwo, five, fifteen years from nowwhen they will have their own practice in reiki, acupuncture, massage, counseling, or psychic reading. They begin to practice a technique and strive to provide the best possible care to their patients. They may even work towards mastery in their particular healing technique. Sounds pretty familiar, right?

And then there's The Reconnection.

Reconnective Healing and The Reconnection was first discovered by Dr. Eric Pearl. Dr. Pearl was a successful Los Angeles chiropractor when a chance meeting with a gypsy fortune teller during a low point in his life led him to experience a brand new frequency for healing. This new form of healing comes with it a new way of thinking that is transcending traditional concepts of health and what it means to be a healer. It is also the overlying theme of The Reconnection Mastery and Practice Conference. Dr. Pearl has assembled an impressive list of internationally-known psychologists, healers, scientists, humanitarians and others for the Conference, which will be held in Los Angeles, August 2 through August 5. They will speak on a variety of topics related to the common consciousness that surrounds Dr. Pearl's work as well as their own.

Scheduled to appear are Dr. John De Martini, co-star of the film The Secret; Dr. J.J. Hurtak, author of The Keys of Enoch: The Book of Knowledge, Dr. Masaru Emoto, who was featured on What the Bleep Do We Know and is the author of The Miracle of Water; Dr. William Tiller, Emeritus Professor at Stanford University, co-star of What the Bleep Do We Know and author of Conscious Acts of Creation: The Emergence of the New Physics; Dr. Terry Cole Whittaker, inspirational speaker, humanitarian and author of numerous best-selling works; Dr. Gary Schwartz, Director of the VERITAS Research Program of the Human Energy Systems Laboratory in the Department of Psychology at the University of Arizonaand many more. Reconnection practitioners will also debut two brand new Reconnection-based programs: Reconnecting Yoga and Reconnecting Kids.
Dr. Pearl uses a simple allegory to describe the new paradigm which is at the base of The Reconnection teachings.

"Let¹s say that you are standing to one side of a small room and you want to get to the other side of the room," he begins. "A technique [to do that might be to] step half way again, and then again. Now the illusion is that we are getting closer. [Actually] it's not really an illusion. We are getting closer and closer each time. The thing is that you could study that technique for 40 years. You could get closer and closer. You could teach others how to do it. You could pay money and have someone give you the title of being a grand master at it. But the point is is that you will never get to where you are going. Because each time you are stepping only half way. It is not that there is no value in the techniques. There is. You step half way and you experience forward motion. You step half way once or twice more until you own forward motion. But to attain true mastery, you have to release or transcend that technique and simply step to where you are going."

The healing energy that Dr. Pearl gained access to for the first time close to 15 years ago developed into a series of seminars that, to this date, have created a Reconnective Healing community of over 30,000 people worldwide. Because of the uniqueness of his work, Dr. Pearl realized early on the need for sponsoring more broad-based conferences such as Mastery and Practice.

"For many years before we did the first conference," Dr. Pearl explains. " I said that I will have conferences where I can bring people in to speak on the consciousness and the principles of healing with the universal laws of the universe as opposed to working via techniques which actually causes us to work with the illusions of working with the universe."

Conference attendee and speaker Dr. William Tiller, who will report on the results of scientific studies he conducted on The Reconnection and Reconnective healing, explains how Reconnective Healing works from a scientific point of view.

"There are many energies involved in light," he ways in a recent paper, "There is, of course, electromagnetic light, which everyone knows about. The coarsest level of the human body is all about electromagnetic energy. So you can use light in the way it's used in energy medicine, especially on acupuncture points, to systemically provide healing in the body. Or you can go to a higher level... magnetoelectric energy. That has an aspect of light as well. And at all of these higher dimensional levels there is a light which is the communicator between the aspects of substance at that level of being.

"When Eric talks about Reconnective Healing, what is happening is that many kinds of energy and light are flowing through the healer and into the healee. In other words, what we're talking about is bringing it beyond just what has been classically known as energy healing into a broader spectrum of energy, light and information," Tiller said.

In this time of rapid transition, change and movement, the Los Angeles Mastery and Practice Seminar is sure to be an amazing coming together of like-minded individuals intent on "thinking globally and healing locally."
